Science Presenter kids

Please plan to stay at your station for the duration of the event.

Be prepared to talk about your project and answer any questions visitors may have.

Parents: please stay with your children during the presentation time to help with the Raffle Tickets, etc.

Arrival

When you arrive you will receive your welcome materials.  You will then find the Section Leader for your Section (Chemical Reactions; Astronomy, Earth Science, & Geology; Electricity & Magnetism; Physics, Motion, & Machines

Biology, Living Things, & Behavior; or Computer Science & Coding) who will guide you to your presentation spot.

Spacing and Facilities

Each student will have about half of a table (about 36x30 inches) of space.  If you need electricity, be sure to bring an extension cord because outlets may be far away.  Also, if you are using iPads, iPhones, etc., bring a portable charger.

Raffle Tickets

Each student presenter receives 50 Raffle Tickets to give out.  For each child who interacts with your scientists project, please give out a raffle ticket (both parts).  An interaction that merits a raffle ticket would be asking a question, making a comment or participating in some way.  The raffle is a way to encourage kids to connect with your scientist’s work. (Presenters will also receive their own Raffle Tickets so they have a chance to win prizes too.) The Raffle drawing will be for science-themed prizes.

Food and Drink

We will have free pizza for all presenters.  The drinking water fountains will be accessible too.

Volunteers

We can always use more volunteers to help set up tables, clean up, help with food, etc. If you are able to help, please let us know!
